Recently I've been waking up with three scrambled eggs with these lil niggas mashed up into them. Literally just those two ingredients plus heat. It works wonders for my digestion, probably. Between that and the massive cup of coffee I enjoy with it, within an hour of waking up each day my bowels are nothing more than a barren, whistling tomb-cave. Highly recommend.

Don't really get what you're on about. I tried canned sardines on a whim a couple years ago and fell in love with canned seafood as a result. They're fun to discuss because they're both delicious on their own and versatile as ingredients, and since it's a canned product, people all over the world can easily try different varieties and have a shared experience. I love canned fish and that's why I eat them all the time, not to prove something to people on the internet who will never even know I exist.

>> No.17345084

>>17344031
Depends entirely on if you're eating filleted anchovies in olive oil and salt (by far the most common variety when people talk about anchovies), or if you're talking about whole anchovies. Whole anchovies taste pretty similar to whole sardines, although in my opinion they tend to have a stronger umami/meatiness to their flavor.
Filleted anchovies are super strong and can't really be compared to any kind of whole canned fish. You can eat them plain, but from what I've seen the most common use is mashing just a couple into a sauce to spread out the intensity a bit. Their overwhelming flavor makes them a lot less versatile than whole fish.

Cracked open a new tin for dinner - Porthos' spicy vegetable oil sardines. 3 large, firm, fish, with an intact pepper in the tin too. The texture and fish themselves were excellent. The spiciness of the pepper didn't really penetrate into the fish, but it was well absorbed by the abundant oil & water, which I poured off into a bowl and used as a dipping sauce. Overall a great tin, makes me excited to try their tomato sauce varieties.
I've never seen this brand in-person (received it as a gift), but they strike me as being similar to a slightly more premium Bela (though maybe I'm just saying that because they're both from Portugal).

Not trying to be a dick, I’m genuinely curious.
Assuming I’m not in some sort of survival situation, I’d only imagine myself doing that if I happened to find them on some insane sale, or had to make a painfully long trip to get them. Or I guess if I ate then literally every day and that amount represented a relatively short supply.
