i don't remember the argument being the versatility of the thing in question? Were we not talking about the simplicity of the food (and perhaps the viability for shelf stability?) The point you are making that flour has oh so many uses is outside the scope of the argument and cannot be appealed any further. I refuse to grant certiorari to these novel arguments.
Also meat and fish is

>eat
Whereas flour is
>wheat (not even wild! must be cultivated)
>dry
>thresh
>mill (careful explosive at this point!)
>cook with heat and flour (not optional!)
>eat (flour with only wheat and water generally isn't great)

The initial observation that prompted this thread was how cheap it is to buy a thing that can feed me, I took flour from my shelf and made dough to make a tortilla with heat and a bit of oil that probably cost me 7 cents if that. And how I can combine it with the miscellaneous things in my house to make different foods and accessories to other recipes. I wasn't talking about hunting or fishing whatever if I failed to indicate that.

Nothing in the original post indicates economy or frugality. Not even implicitly. And I refuted the last point (how you can combine with miscellaneous things) with the fact that fish and meat doesn't even NEED to be combined with miscellaneous things. Sure you can eat raw flour, but who would want to?
