What water bottle do you use /ck/?

I use pic. rel. It's insulated, 500ml and cheap. Thinking of picking up something of similar capacity, but not insulated, for a smaller form factor.

You can bust off that shitty rounded bottom part with a quick whack and these bottles are instantly better. The actual bottom of the bottle is flat and balances better, while that extra inch on the bottom is just for show. It usually happens during everyday use, anyways, since that part is only crimped on instead of welded.

>anything other than a wide mouth stainless steel single wall bottle

Pic related is what I'm rolling with. 40 oz stainless widemouth Kleen Canteen. In addition to being my daily (and only) bottle, I've used it to boil eggs and boil water to sterilize. It's flat bottom can sit on a stove top, and it has a rim that you can wrap wire around to hang it over a fire. It carries plenty of water for a normal day and won't break if you drop it. The lid is plastic but inside it's stainless steal, so the only non-stainless part that comes in contact with the water is the silicon lid gasket.

You are seriously fucking up if you use something else, especially plastic.

I have a shitload of bottles because I keep receiving them as gifts. Some of the ones that I use the most:

- Nalgene is nice and lightweight for plain water but absorbs the flavor/scent of other drinks pretty quickly. Non-insulated so it's only good for room temperature drinks. I pretty much only take it to the gym.
- Thermos brand was my favorite standard plastic bottle before the Nalgene since the loop was actually durable, but the locking mechanism broke after a drop. Still recommend.
- Clear-top Yeti is my favorite for hot drinks. Allows it to cool down enough that I'm not burning the shit out of my mouth but still takes several hours to actually go cold. Spout seal has never leaked.
- Chillz (Yeti knockoff) performed about the same as the Yeti but the lid was prone to leaking and it had no way to actually seal the spout.
- Leavitt Bay with the built in french press is decent. Doesn't hold much and the seal around the press isn't perfect. I've had more success using it for tea than for coffee.
- Crystal Drip is insane. I put freshly brewed coffee in it and it was still boiling hot 48 hours later. Huge capacity, mostly only take this on long trips.

From my autistic research, results might vary on your geolocation:

Non insulated stainless bottle
Nalgene Stainless 1,1L > Pathfinder 1L > Kleen Kanteen Wide Stainless 1182ml >>>>>>> everything else

Insulated stainless bottle:
Ikea UTRUSTNING 1L > Duro Food Flask 1L > KLEAN KANTEEN Insulated TKWide 946 ml Loop Cap > Mizu D10 1L > GSI Outdoors Microlite Twist 1000ml > everything else

If you'll use it you'll need to clean it, implies wide mouth construction and nongimicky screw only cap. This filters out vast majority of the crap out there. Bonus for integrated insulated cup as the cap protector.

its the best and i never actually used any water bottle i bought before this one because its the easiest to hold, has the smallest lid that also isnt strapped on or annoying, i can just grab it and drink it like any other soda bottle. i hate plastic and this one does not have a nipple that squeals and squirts like a baby sucking a nummy

also see through bottles are gross and unappetizing, makes you look like a man baby drinking from a sippy cup. everyone should have a steel cup all hail the steel cup.

My old man got me a yeti for christmas and I've been using it regularly for about 2 weeks now,
I'm really impressed with how cold it keeps stuff and it's also dishwasher safe.
I'd recommend even if it costs a lot

So where do I acquire on of these containers without purchasing them? Are you carrying your water in an old bucket you found?

I have a glass bottle as well. Didn't like it due to how heavy it felt. Was always paranoid that I might drop it and it would shattered. I do agree it does look nice though.

Hmm good list anona. The utrustanig and duro don't have a straw lid so I might go for a tkwide.. wish they didn't cost $80 AUD (or risk a dodgy fake site to get it cheaper>

I've never shattered one. It's heavier than a plastic bottle but much lighter than a thermal metal one like hydroflask. Mine fits in my backpack pocket so I don't worry about those things anyway
