Mcdonalds size fries = 2-3 at a time

The only time I'd ever go more than 3 fries at once is with shoestring fries, but I'm not a big fan of those. Those are best when you allow them to soak up steak juices and get a little soft, then eat them with a fork.

Here's the thing.
If you're thirsty you don't need flavor. You just need to quench your thirst.
Juice/Spirits/Soda/Milk/etc, all those are more expensive than water. So the optimal way of consuming liquids is to first quench your thirst with classic, boring, flavorless water. And then, when you are no longer thirsty, use Juice/Spirits/Soda/Milk/etc.

This not only saves you money, but allows you to savor the taste of whatever your prefered drink is. Which is harder to do if you're just gulping down for the purpose of quenching your thirst.

I think we can all agree on this. Where it might get controversial is when we apply this same logic to food. First, what is the equivalent of water to food? Maybe it's not just one item but a class of items.
Should all meals come with a "water" item, (A mediocre item that's cheap but you get a lot of it to satiate your hunger) next to the actual "tasteful" items?

This is all to answer OP's question of whether you should scarf food or enjoy the taste.
