Has anyone here actually had A5 Wagyu?
Worth getting or just a meme

Get a small piece if you can. Only like 20 or 30 bucks and it's so fatty a small piece, 4-6 oz, is pretty filling. Costco sells it but in kinda of big portions.

It's worth trying once I think.

It's something that's worth trying. You can order it online for an almost reasonable price. I wouldn't bother getting in a restaurant through, unless you have the money to burn.

I've only had A5 in Yakiniku restaurants, it's small portions so you won't spend too much. It's good. Regular wagyu is better for cooking if you want a steak or something, I do buy it thin-sliced for hot pot sometimes but I'll admit that's a waste.

If you have to ask if it’s worth it than it won’t be worth it to you.
It’s a delicious treat to splurge on.

Sounds like you're playing a very dangerous game with a semi-auto pistol.

It's good but it's not something you would eat a bunch of like regular steak. You eat it similar to how you would eat foie gras, it's delicious but very rich

paying such exorbitant prices for a blob of far is beyond retarded

Do you have to pair it with some fancy Japanese ketchup?

Spent 800 bucks on a meal with Kobe beef in Dallas once. Totally worth doing once in your life just for the experience, but I would never do it again. I'd rather get a nice porterhouse from the local butcher and a bottle of wine for 1/10th the price.

im going to make a philly steak with it when i buy one but its meant for medium rare and not in sliced pieces?

I bought it from a butcher who sells it in my city.
It's alright but not worth the price. Honestly I liked the AussiexJapanese cut more

I've never had it although I'd love to try it if I get the chance to visit Europe. Maybe some in the thread could answer it, I just think this image is hilarious
