I've lived in places with electric and induction. Nothing fucking compares to the perfection of clean burning propane, the temperature control, the even cooking, and the ability to flambe and properly saute. I used my work experience to make a point, like we have some induction burners but they're only for hot wells, not cooking. No fucking restaurant uses induction or electric, it's gas all day.

I bought a stovetop with a 20,000 btu burner so I can stir fry better on my wok. I also installed the most powerful home kitchen vent hood I could find that vents directly outside. In order to cook with woks on induction, I'd have to get a standalone special little wok heater and it'd have to not be under the vent. Annoying.

I own my place now and I have gas, but I have several relatives who have electric despite owning their place. It completely depends on the age of the building and what part of the world you live in. Apparently in your area newer buildings are used for rental and older ones tend to be owner occupied, but that's not the case everywhere.

As a big fan of gas, I will say that cooking on any sort of stovetop is literal pain whenever there is no good vent hood that vents outside. Gas only exacerbates that problem. I have never had so much takeout in my life as when I lived in apartments with their shitty little integrated microwave/vents. Cooking was a plume of aerosolized oil that got everywhere, and your apartment smelled like whatever you cooked however many days ago. I love bacon, but I don't wanna be smelling that 2 days later, thanks.

I didn't even know it was a thing. Never had an issue keeping my range clean; never had an issue with heat output, only once had a gas leak - at the line into the furnace. I shut off the main valve, made a phone call, and they had me all fixed up in 2h.

I've only had two electric ranges fail me completely - one was so weak it couldn't boil water, and a relay fucked off on the other one, so the dials on one side could only be set to off and murder. I fixed the relay, but neither stove was mine.

Does Adam just cause shit on the internet, or does he actually have interesting/useful things to say? I only caught a bit of one video where he spewed incorrect hot-takes for the first 90s or so.
