I'm a manager at walmart. A couple months ago I was reorganizing our freezer. I was alone. Our retarded overnight crew stacks merchandise almost to the ceiling, like 20 feet in the air. I was on a ladder, pulling a case of fries (pretty heavy like 35-40lb) off the top of a stack, lost my balance and fell off the ladder onto my back. Luckily I landed fine and wasn't injured, but that scared the absolute shit out of me. That freezer is below 0, you lose feeling in your fingers after about 10 minutes even with insulated gloves. Most spooked I've been in a while.

Water isn’t some anti-fire magic like it is in video games. The reason dousing a wood fire works is cause the water displaces the air and suffocates the fire. With a grease fire the water just pushes the grease everywhere increasing the surface area of the combustible material(oil) and making a much larger fire. So on a fire with solid fuel, water is great. Liquid fuel though just spreads it out.
