im going to a work camp for three weeks at a time soon. Theres a buffet there but I wanna make some shit in my room too. I got a kettle and a hot plate and some basic cooking gear im bringing. What are some cool pantry food ideas that dont require refrigerated ingredients?

You will get plenty of food anon, if you start snacking in between meals youre gonna get fat as hell really fast.

Tipping needs to be fucking banned. It's extortion, plain and simple. "Pay me extra or I'll give you shitty service!" Fuck off. If your employer doesn't pay you enough, it's not my problem. Get a better job.

She's trying to surreptitiously show everyone how great of a human being she is: simply serving food in her normal perfect way resulted in this kind of accolade AND she is so emotionally in-tune and sensitive with people (empathetic) that she cried tears of joy from sharing this experience with a stranger. She is truly an altruistic and warm human being.

That she took a picture of this intimate interaction with a widow and posted in online beside a selfie showing her *real human tears* (!!!) shows what kind of roastie she really is. Nothing matters unless it is shared online and garners ephemeral online praise by strangers. Instead of putting the note in a special place in her home and saving the experience for herself she reduced it to a wannabe viral moment. She lives a thoroughly unexamined life and confuses sensitivity with superficial sentimentality.

I mostly prefer dried over canned, so I'd raid the pantry section of the grocery store for the pilafs, soup mixes, mashed potatoes, and similar. Maybe TVP and dehydrated vegetables to spruce them up, and definitely some hot sauce for anything that turns out too bland.

You could totally make things like risotto from scratch, but for short term living with uncertain shopping aspects, I'd go for the ready-made ones so I don't get annoyed as fuck for not having rosemary or whatever

OP here. I should have posted a less funny photo. I never saw the second half of the note mentioning the dead husband and always assumed it was the crying girl in the pic who wrote the note simply stating it was her first time eating alone and was so proud of herself for taking this step and eating alone without people. Kinda spoiled it.

Anyways. Work camp: no I'm not in prison, it's a pipeline job in Canada. There's a daily buffet but it's like fuckin Salisbury steak with muchroom sauce every day. I was thinking of hoarding chicken drumsticks and pulling the meat and flying it up with spices and bringing some masa corn flour and making tacos on a hot plate
