I've tried Whataburger, Blake's Lot a Burger, Custer's, Arctic Circle, Braum's, Five Guys, just about all the regional chains from California to Texas. Not a single one of them comes close to In-N-Out for overall quality and value for price paid.

Which locations have you tried? I've had them in Oregon, one near SLC, Utah and Denton, Texas and the Las Vegas, NV locations. The one I went to in Utah later at night was eerily empty for an In-N-Out. They all tasted pretty damn similar and nothing stood out as inconsistent from the Cali locations.

In-N-Out is miraculously one of the few things in California that has consistently held itself with quality and pricing while everything else we have grown up with has gone to shit. In n Out is good reliable cheap burger, but I find that a lot of towns usually have a better local place, some even with a drive thru. It's only rated so highly because it beats the absolute shit out of McD or BK. In n Out definitely has the best interior environment of any fast food chain though.
