Jim beam being branded says I'm cheap but no so cheap that I'll buy the unbranded generic stuff here. I always get jack daniels cause it's more expensive here and I only drink whiskey when I'm trying to be kinda fancy anyway.
Always thought the price meant it was better.

Jack Daniels is pretty much the Budweiser of whiskey's in the states. Everyone knows it and its affordable (though ironically much like Bud I've never met many into Jack personally). Jim Beam more or less equal to it in terms of recognizability. Never tried Jack, honestly. Kinda on my bucket list. Sort of like Steel Reserve, it's a weird right of passage.

Shit's not even expensive, how is that trying to show off? I've only had a few types of bourbon, and it's the best tasting one I've had. And all whisky is drinking whisky, or it wouldn't be whisky. Any alcohol made to sit in the bottle and be decorations shouldn't be considered alcohol at all.

What. Where the fuck are you buying your alcohol. Even here, where we have absurd taxes on alcohol, a bottle was like $60-70 CAD. That's like $50 USD max, and you can probably shave another $10 USD off that when you ignore our taxes on alcohol.

>>17202320
>Overrated horse juice.
It's definitely not as bad as you are implying, but I never said I have a wide range of experience with bourbon. I'd love to try more, but I've been experimenting with other stuff lately (good tequilas & mezcal, and scotch as per usual).

No, it's not, you're simply a young 20 year old who thinks he's appearing cultured or in the know in some way by talking up a $120 bottle of bourbon

bourbon costs $20
your $120 bourbon is not any better for bourbon than wild turkey of old grand dad, and it is far below the level of scotch. it has no age statement, right?

People are weird, though people seem to like that dumb metal horse racing thing on the bottle too much. And I've no doubt there are better bourbons for cheaper, happens with any alcohol. Don't have a lot of selection where I am, unfortunately. At least, none I have any context for. Some day I plan on going through the bourbons I can buy and try them out, but its lower on the list for me.
