I also got the chipotle flavored cholula but I finished that first because it was so bad that I wanted to be rid of it quickly.

>> No.17192029

I swear the green Cholula used to be better.
Tabasco was always sort of garbage.

>> No.17192038

>>17192029
oh they definitely changed the formula recently.
The new bottles say "MILDER RECIPE" or some shit wrapped around the neck.

Green tobasco is still top tier.
I also finished that off quickly, but because it's so good.

I eat a lot of eggs.

The other Tabascos are okay. Green and chipotle. The regular is the only one I've had that's just bad. It's one of the worst hot sauces.

>> No.17192060

>>17192049
yeah, plain tabasco is pretty much the poster child for sauces that are just red colored vinegar.

I put shit like texas pete and louisiana in that category as well.

Crystal hot sauce is from louisiana but I would put it on par with Franks. if a person wanted to buy a decent all-purpose hot sauce that could literally go on anything, I'd tell them to get Crystal or Franks.

I think Tobasco is uniquely bad. There are better and worse ones, but Tobasco is one I go without if its the only option. But it has its adherents. So presumably it's distinct quality is a selling point for some.

the chili lime is great

Yeah there's something to be said about making the same uniquely bad product exactly the same way for 150 years.
It starts to grow on people just because it's a familiar feeling thing that links them to the past.

A lot of alcohol brands are like that too.

Cholula is fucking shit. If you want mexican hot sauce just get valentina

>> No.17192122

It’s surprisingly good on eggs . I like A1 sauce because it has a high flavor to calorie ratio .

I'm scared to buy valentina because it's like $2 a gallon at my local store and I feel like that's way too cheap to be good. It's suspicious.

Its personally my favorite hot sauce. The black label one is the spicier version which I like. Give it a try and if you don't like it then it was only $2

A1 is better than ketchup but its not really good on anything when compared to other condiments except for on burgers in place of ketchup. In most other cases theres usually a better choice, especially when it comes to steak

I haven't found anything that HUY FONG sriracha doesn't improve (yes the brand matters)
