Actually, pretty good. I think it beeing less carbonated makes it firstly taste different, secondly it beeing hot - some of the flavours come out different. Its noticably more lemony, even without adding the lemon, curiously enough.

The original recipe called for rum; the picture in the OP is a later reprint that omits it. It's called a "Schuss-Boomer" or just a "Boomer".

Yeah, I also heard about that other protip - if you want to have hot water allways ready, just freeze it and heat it again - so simple! Sarcasm aside, I would argue, that it still would taste different, even when it gets colder, it does.

at that time people were literally encouraged to smoke or eat artificial shit etc regardless of consequences. yet the economy was better and many industrialized food products carried up natural ingredients in their recipes. the shit you drink today has absolutely nothing to do with shit people used to drink before. there's highly specialized (((food scientists))) today who authorize replacement of expensive ingredients by numerous chemical stabilizers, preservatives, flavors enhancers etc. anyway it should be quite a pleasant experience for your stomach tissues to get some of the magical chemistry of hotty dr.pepper 2021 edition. sweety lemony cancinogenic boyyess.

>According to the Dr Pepper Museum, the Schuss-Boomer was invented in September of 1958. Wesby R. Parker, then-president of the Dr Pepper Company, was visiting a bottling facility in the middle of a blizzard. While there, a salesman joked about needing a hot drink to sell during this type of weather, which sparked Parker to begin experimenting with ways to serve warm Dr Pepper.
