Do restaurants workers not like making food for doordash?
I've used doordash 3 times now and every time my food has been sub-par quality rather if I would of just picked it up myself. What gives? Its like they see doordash and think "I'm going to put zero effort into making this".

I put more effort into a togo order than a dine in one because I know how disappointing it can be.

they make basically no money off delivery app orders.

There's a local restaurant I frequent that outright refuses to deal with food delivery services, partly because they screw every participant in the exchange and partly because DoorDash put up a phone number - ostensibly for the restaurant but actually run by DoorDash - on the internet without their knowledge or consent.

That's pretty scummy.
I just wish more places had actual standardised online payment methods. I've not carried cash in ages now.

Dasher here. Yeah, there are some restaurants that don't prioritize Doordash. Got screwed over by Wendy's multiple times.

That's because pajeet doesn't give a shit about your order and will take his damn time for each and everything. Try ordering from the restaurant direct next time, you mong

Maybe it's just your area. I ordered using DD yesterday and it got here a lot faster than I expected and everything was hot and fresh. I gave the driver like a $6 tip. It was the first time I used them and I'll definitely use them again

This is the big one. All takeout turns to slop after a long enough period in the car. Your driver is running three other delivery apps, and the app you're using is lying about your priority and having the driver pick up two more meals and complete two more stops before delivering your food. It's a shitty service, there's a reason why pizza places with delivery actually developed their service.

I'm afraid "Doordash" is struggling with its image. "MacDonalds" doesn't have this problem.

Had to use this shit when I was trapped at home by covid and for a two week period, every day, EVERY order was completely fucked up either by the dasher or the restaurant. I even had one black bitch toss my food in the bushes when I had to come outside to yell at her from my balcony where the stairs were.

>> No.17170428

doordash and similar or completely degenerate.
1. yes they do, in some cases, screw restaurants. restaurants have to choose to maintain their prices and let DD raise them to cover their vig, or eat the difference. so they can avoid the loss of revenue but at the cost of having DD and the like aggressively advertising false high prices.

2. the drivers are scum. we ban drivers constantly. for all kinds of gross shit. we had one set a paper to go back of customer food on the bathroom floor between his legs while he peed in a urinal. we have to ban one for getting caught eating customer food or otherwise digging around in the food almost weekly. and those complaints come to us. normies dont get it, but DD and the like do everything they can to encourage this misunderstanding. so customers complain to us, then we have to complain to DD or uber eats. and they dont give a fuck. they just stop that offending driver from coming to our restaurant but they keep on delivering.

3. if you dont play ball with them they will set up fake phone numbers as mentioned, and even entire fake restaurant websites. complete with sometimes real and sometimes totally fake menus and take orders. they will take phone calls as if they are the restaurant and then try to charge you for it. One local bar found a website for their bar that claimed it was a BBQ restaurant. their name, their address, google images of their location. with a fake phone number and a BBQ menu (this place had no kitchen). the menu had been taken from a BBQ place next door that had been out of business for 6 years. sketch as fuck.

its just a way for techfags to horn in on small business.

Yup, they did that to us too. I showed up to open and some lady was already waiting for a huge order. Like a dozen entrees. I had to call doordash and tell them to cancel it because A) we never agreed to partner with them, B) half the things on the order weren’t even on our menu anymore. It was during COVID too so it was just me there, the server hadn’t showed up. They give Dashers a credit card to pay for the order. That’s how they can claim to deliver from any restaurant

How many small takeout places will have their own websites? How many places will let you pay by paypal, or alternatively how willing are you to trust them with your card details?

Door dash doesn't actually do anything besides run an server and update an app on the phone. The drivers are retards that steal your food. They're the most perfect example of technowhig parasites that don't actually add anything to the world, but start sucking up cash because they made things 5% easier.

Yes, Americans really do this one. You would be amazed how many people cook either not at all or at most like once a week. Less if you don't count 'tendies in the oven' tier cooking.

I don't acknowledge Door Dash. It's fee-fucking. If I'm drunk, I just enjoy myself until I'm sober, then drive to a restaurant. I use it maybe once a year on vacation or something. Not as an actual real way to buy food.

>> No.17171315

Nailed it, these companies are fucking scum. They're barely even profitable either, they just soak VC money until they dominate a market and then revert to leach form. Not to mention, want to start up a small restaurant in an underserved area? Too bad they identified that gap with order data and they've shoved some wagies into a 130 degree shipping container to sell food on the app under a fake folksy restaurant identity already.

I fucking hate doordash and all of the food delivery services like it. I wish the owner would ban them already. Shit always just has to go wrong with them and it's always a massive headache to deal with. The day they go bankrupt can not come sooner.

>> No.17171807

I havnt had drivers mess with my orders, but they are pretty retarded with delivering to my apartment. Its just a building thats locked, numbers are all inside. Despite putting 'leave at center door', (on a small road with this being the only building) on the delivery instructions, 75% of them will say "how do i get in, can you meet me, its locked, leave it outside?" One woman even waited for someone else to let her in, in order to bring it to my door.

>> No.17172507

It's not that they don't like doordashers, it's the fact that nobody checks the food for you as they take it out. Basically there is no accountability for fuckups.
If you were standing there waiting for your food, they would make it good because they know if they did a shitty job, you would have them make it again or your wouldn't pay.
Since you aren't there to quality-check the food, they just don't give a shit.

How do they even determine it's DoorDash or others?
I've ordered from Five Guys, Habit, and Panda Express, they also seem to label it as an online order. I only use pick-up though.

That seems strange.
I'm not sure what the difference would be from the cook's perspective.
Granted, the place I cook at already does it's own delivery, but to me there's no difference between a carry out, a dine in, or a delivery aside from whether I package or plate the food, and if packaged whether the package goes into a delivery bag or not.
