You guys have no idea. Popeye's is a shadow of its former self. The chicken they pass off now as "spicy" is the equivalent of what they used to sell as "mild" in the '80s. Their spicy chicken from the '80s - that was the good stuff.

popeye's is always grease-laden and over-battered here. If I ever had it flaky like in you picture, I might agree with you. It looks pretty good, but I've never had a popeye's serve anything like that. That's the downfall of mass producing deep fried stuff. It's hard to do really well, and most of the time you just get by while making it some mediocre crunchy battered stuff laden in fat. Comparing one fast food to another is pretty meaningless, as more depends on the staff than most will admit, and most staff in fast food places really don't give a fuck. Every now and then you'll be lucky guy that has a fast food place willing to put in some effort to sling some cheap junk food your direction regularly. Praise the people at that location, not the entire chain.
