"No." I've built up the rapport over the last year, spent over a thousand dollars in that one store across booze and specialty food items. they know I dont get out to their locations super often because I live 30+ miles away and never have I had an interaction in there that has seemed like anything less of them being tolerant to a social leper. I always refuse to be added to their rewards club because it never adds up to save a little money, but instead the points act as raffle tickets for the drawing monthly and during the holidays. Of course a raffle to buy and not to win for free. I've subbed to the newsletter with multiple emails and never received one despite talking directly to the guy that does the newsletter and personally handing him the written email address in perfect writing. I check the blog twice a day at least and last time I talked to the newsletter guy he said that there was a parcel of Glendronach 15 in September, but that shit was never on the blog or the site proper. The latest thing they've done to piss me off is not send me an email on an actual order once it was ready to pick up. so I guess this Amish made Fruit Cake that they started taking orders for in early November for my grandpa is going to be fucked up or something because that shit has apparently been sitting there for about a month without any contact from them as to notify me it was ready.

I think I rubbed one of the employees the wrong way the very first time I went to this store when they offered me an open bottle of Victoriana to buy for $50 instead of the retail $80 even though the open bottle only had one or two pours from it and I said sure if I can get a taste to make sure it's not corked or something. tasted good even out of a tiny paper cup, but he still went looking and got a new sealed one and still only charged me $65 for it. pushing my luck I asked if there was any chance I could get a taste of their open bottle of Michters 10 Rye and a different employee barked from the other side of the store "We only do tastings on the weekends." I thought I got the one dude in trouble as the barker acted as if it was his bottle or something. We've bullshitted a handful of times since joking about Bulleit Rye, TotoalWines Grangestone line and Rums under 40%, but there's always been a feeling of underlying tension and I wish they would just fucking come out with already. I always shower before going and make sure to wear presentable clothes. I dont use any cursing or any internet lingo or otherwise act like a spaghetti timebomb. I think it's possible that it's because the obvious difference in upbringing. They're born and bred city folk and I'm quintessentially rural. I keep it simple, they dont tell me their names, I only tell them mine when I have something to pick up. I dont fondle bottles or ask for help with certain labels or anything allocated.

The peat is nice and soft on the initial palate adding subtle complexion, but after a few mins I get that smokey linger. For nearly 60 abv it drinks soft enough without water. Very happy accident today.
