This is my first Christmas hosting my inlaws. Pretty nervous, going to cook Ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, deviled eggs and a cheese plate. If I'm missing something essential please let me know bros

I do turkey breast and country ham with dressing and glazed herbed carrots with other crap for thanksgiving. On Christmas I do beef, sometimes tenderloin in a red wine reduction. This year going a little more frugal with a ribeye roast, broiled shrimp cocktail and lump crab cakes with cream/sherry sauced green beans, homemade scalloped potatoes and croissants with herbed butter and other side stuff.

Thanks to new omnicron restrictions I will not be able to travel to spend Christmas with my family. I'm going to get a small cured ham and a chicken for myself. Probably make some mashed potatoes and peas to go with it. Pickled wieners, cheese, and rye bread for snacking on while I get drunk and watch Christmas movies by myself.

Shrimps cocktail served on avocado halves for starters
Potato salad and carp as main course
Fruit and ice cream as desert

We eat this almost every year, with mom dead I will have to prepare most of it when dad comes arround

On Christmas day it will be goose legs, dumplings and red cabbage

No but my grandma came from that area that was given to the Chzech after the war so we always had same of their influences in our cookin and we always agreed potato salad with sausage is a sad affair on christmas eve when you can have glorius carp instead

Absolutely nothing. I don't spend Holidays with my family. I hated them as a kid and still prefer to do my own thing (which is work relentlessly and accumulate wealth) to this very day. I'll probably unironically be having Chinese like the Jews do given Chinese places are the only thing opened on Christmas.
