How many times have you tried making it from scratch? What didn't you like about your homemade pie? The first time you should always expect to fuck up something major and just take note of it and try again. Then when you finally get it right it makes the whole experience far more rewarding. Even moreso than getting it right the first time. The biggest mistake i find people make with pies is using crisco. That shit makes the most revolting crusts.

I tried it when it launched last year or so. The taste was close, but quite there yet. It had an odd, plastic-like aftertaste. I would guess there was flax in it because flax tastes of plastic to me.
Anyway, the most detracting thing from it was texture. It wasn't much like chicken at all.
I haven't bought a second one.
Why can't someone just make a fucking vegetarian pot pie with some actual motherfucking vegetables in it? I'd rather eat that than another TVP product aping at meat.

Agreed in almost all cases if it's trying to emulated a quality meat product or where it tries to be healthy. I've tried fast food "impossible" burgers and they can be in the same ballpark as the meat patties because a whopper or white castle burger meat patty wasn't exactly unadulterated to begin wit

Not a healthy/quality one, sure, butt's not going to kill you faster than their regular meat pies (which only have minuscule chunks of processed meat anyway).

It's less nutritious than the unprocessed base ingredients, similar to the vegetables, meat, etc. that went into the pies previously. But it's not devoid of calories, fats, and some other nutrients which remain after processing.
