if a cat has fleas that's a huge red flag the owner doesn't take care of it. my cats had fleas when I got them but they were rescues from a hoarders house. I did one round of flea treatment and they have not has fleas for over 6 years.

like if you met a child who always had lice it's not because lice are the child's fault, it's because their parents neglect them.
