They absolutely do not; the whole idea of pounding a cutlet thin then breading and frying it comes from Europe. See: weiner schnitzel, kotlet schabowy, veal milanese, etc.
The whole reason you guys have this dish is because you mostly descend from German immigrants. It's really annoying that you guys decided it needed as new and confusing a name as CFS.

I'm English born and bred, working class and an English breakfast is what it is, some people have different stuff and thats it, nothing worst than metropolitian types being snobby about it. For me its mushrooms, beans, hashbrowns, black pudding, streaky bacon (smoked), sausage, grilled toms and scrambled eggs.

Full English has the right components but their produce (particularly the sausages but also the butter, tea, bread and eggs) are vastly inferior to what the Irish get. Ulster wins out because it has all the advantages of a Full Irish with added Potato Farl and Soda Bread. The worlds best hangover cure.
