This has to be a meme, or a psyop. Has anyone ever seen an elder cook this ? This isn't mentioned in any old books, this might even be slightly poisonous.

Pine needles are safe to eat, though if you eat too many of them you'll probably get diarrhea. I'm talking like literally hundreds of pines needles in one sitting, I know from experience I've made pine needle tea dozens of times when hiking, it's pretty good.
