You bought it.

Airport food has come a really long way, and I rarely see a limited selection of food when I travel in the US. There will local chefs famous within that city doing airport locations highlighting the best regional food in that city. Did you buy it at 2am from a kiosk of packaged prepared choices in a newstand? Were you restricted by immigration to a connection in an international terminal only?

What airport are you at? Vendor? Were there other choies?

It’s a tad annoying because it can vary by airport. You pretty much have to ask what the policy is for each sky lounge. Honestly, I’ve never had a problem. They purposefully make it so you just can’t call the desk and ask. You realize there’s no reason to be embarrassed, they see hundreds of people a day from across the world. They’ll forget you in like 5 seconds. Just shrug your shoulder and walk away.

Although I’m pretty certain centurion is only for layovers.

nta. The cards the typically give access to lounges come w/ hefty (still increasing) annual fees that are paid upfront and each subsequent year they are held ($550, $695, $395).
You might find it worthwhile if you travel more than a few times each month, as the costs of food adds up quick. On the other hand, I've heard that most are garbage at the moment and are often still filled up.

>I mean shit that’s the primary reason I have half my credit cards
Can see that, but honestly prefer keeping things simple. All I have is a "normal" credit union debit card, a debit card with ATM fee refunds which is compatible with every international CC processor I've thrown at it, and a 3% universal cashback credit card with no catch.

The waiter, a big black guy, comes up to me asking what the hell I'm doing. I just ask for a soda (Pepsi, which I feel is sacrilege in Atlanta). The bartender, a pretty blonde woman, doesn't make me pay for the Pepsi, as she probably assumed I was retarded.

if you travel, Amex Plat will get you access to most lounges for same day travel (but not all); Centurion has been, by far, the best lounge for years, but they’re losing ground to improved American Airlines lounges (esp Flagship); there is so much variability in quality of lounges between airports that you really need to look at what your home airport offers, and decide from there; all lounge-access cards have a big yearly fee, but almost completely offset the cost of you take advantage of the benefits…a good example is Amex Plat with the $15/month Uber credit, as well as Uber Gold status; there’s too many offers and options out there so if you’re really interested and don’t mind reddit, got to r/churning for a TL:DR version

It depends on the airline. I fly Alaska a lot since I live in Alaska (and they are really the only airline out all year round) and their lounges normally require that you have a ticket and pay $50 or $25 if you have the Alaska Credit card or you get in free if you have a first class ticket. Being upgraded does not get you free entry.

It will depend on the airline but I assume its similar for others. A lot of other airlines also partner with other airlines and that lets you into their lounges as well.

I rarely go anywhere else to eat at an airport anymore since food and drink will quickly exceed $25 and I like the much calmer atmosphere of the lounge.

I found the Delta lounges to be pretty lackluster compared to the Centurion lounges. Those cucks are charging $10-15 for cocktails I can get for free* while I download airplane crash vids to watch on the flight

*Subsidized by all of you paying higher prices to offset credit card fees. Thanks for the alcohol normies

protip: almost every card has a “brings guest or three in free” feature so, if you have the nutsack, hang around the door of the lounge and when you see someone walking toward it ask them “hey, I forgot my card, can I be your guest?”; act like you belong and 70% of the time, it works every time

Is Amex's platinum card difficult to qualify for? I know it's about $500 annually, which I have no issue paying, but is the bar high to get approved? I'm 27, 700 credit score, and make $80,000. I've never had an Amex card before. I vaguely recall hearing a lot of people work up to a platinum having lesser Amex cards first.
