I tried the pizza cone, they need something on the inside to keep it from becoming some kind of mass of cheese and sauce, like a second piece of bread you insert before adding the other ingredients. They'd probably save money that way, too.

I think a big part is the filling to bread ratio. the cone is way too wide at the top so there are going to be a bunch of bites where you get no bread at all.

Make them tubes instead.
