Sorry picture sucks, I’m on mobile
I left out what i haven’t had before (green bean casserole, cornbread [i think I’ve had cornbread literally once], sweet potato casserole, creamed corn I’m sure I’ve had literally once or twice, and honestly haven’t had enough sparkling juice to mention it)
Stuffing sucks, it smells like soggy bird skin or something
Also i don’t like Turkey or ham, lmao. But meat is my favourite, just not those two
I like ham if it’s pan fried so dry it’s basically jerky
My family goes nuts with the intricacy of veggies (lots of spices, oil, complex flavours, long cooking times) do those are always fantastic
Also presuming carb restriction for health and calories isn’t a factor, i will eat every carb i can stuff into my face

We would usually have pretty much the same thing as we did for Thanksgiving maybe ham instead of turkey on some years but that was when we were kids. Since the kids have grown up and moved out we've become a lot less traditionalistic for Christmas dinners. Nowadays we usually try to plan something unique and special still but not traditional at the same time.

The more Thanksgivings I go to the more I am baffled. Does it really take that much fucking effort to make a green bean casserole from scratch instead of using canned soup, or to learn how to make stuffing that doesn't come from a box or how to not drown your mashed potatoes in butter and cream or how to cook a turkey properly? How is it that I, a single, 30 year-old heterosexual man, can plan, cook and serve better holiday meals than a fucking stay-at-home mother who has been making Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners since before I was even born? I'm not a cook or a chef and everything I make for the holiday is bog-standard "middle America Thanksgiving" but it's still almost always better than what I've been served by others. Have these people never had better food during the holidays? I would be fucking embarrassed to serve my guests most of the Thanksgiving dinners I've ever had.
