This is true, depending on your local demographics.

The only time I ever saw someone using it was a bunch of SEA guys cooking chicken at the park while I was on acid. I talked to em for a while

>> No.17041343

Endotoxin: toxic substance bound to the bacterial cell wall and released when the bacterium ruptures or disintegrates. Endotoxins are rarely fatal, although they often cause fever: https://www.britannica.com/science/endotoxin.. You don't brush these off with a grater.

Aluminium foil is a neurotoxin and becomes highly reactive with acid (vinegar, wine, most marinades) when heated sufficiently. It may be a cause for Alzheimer's and autism (debate is ongoing, see: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26922890/).).

>>17040500
Good question. Medics and pharmacists don't sterilize their equipment by putting it on an outdoor grill.

Sterilizing at home (the way you see it in books or videos) isn't 100% safe either. You risk turning harmless bacteria into (rarely) lethal endotoxins.

It's important to know these things exist. It's also important to know these things get used all the time, and nobody ever gets sick. Relax and have a wonderful winter barbecue.

It's not unsanitary, fire kills the unsanitary, that's like why we cook meat in the first place, to kill the bacteria, also yes, I use them. Also the germs aren't going to kill you.

>> No.17042785

The fire kills anything worth worrying about, biggest issue is they're never cleaned off so you're going to end up with tons of charred on shit on the grates to deal with, so unless you feel like spending an hour trying to scrape off years of burnt on built up carbonized slop it's easier to just bring your own portable grill. Plus those things are shit anyway, no cover, no real way to control the heat, why bother.

When i was in Munich, Germany, tons of people used those in special areas in parks (forgot the name). As a local explained, since it's mostly ordnung, people cleaning after themselves, etc, they aren't really scared much and simply just start a stronger fire at first to warm up/burn the grill good. Maybe it's different with coronapanik now, i was there 6 yrs ago.
