I'm having a honeybaked ham with the senpai, I prefer it over turkey but turkey is fine. Honestly thanksgiving is about family and the food you all share and enjoy while in each other's company so the food can really be whatever you want. Do what you want who cares really.

The problem with turkey is that it's very hard to get right. I ate shit turkey almost all my life and never really got the appeal. BUT there are a couple ways around this.

1. forget the whole turkey and roast or smoke turkey wings
2. go all-out on brining and carefully roasting

I did the Alton Brown brine/roast method for Christmas one year and nobody could understand how it was moist and flavorful after a couple decades of holidays with dry shitty turkey
