Why does Breakfast have its own unique list of acceptable foods, while lunch and dinner foods are interchangeable? What's wrong with having a "dinner" food at breakfast time?

>> No.16999479

Mostly because breakfast is considered a morning meal. Just have whatever you want man.

They're not, would you have a sandwich for dinner?

>> No.16999509

Literally all meals are arbitrary.
Breakfast foods in particular have been heavily skewed in the west because of advertising, and a need to be quick out of the house to please Mr Goldstein.

Just look at different countries breakfast foods.

Thinking that you have to constrain your diet to match your perception of "normal" is more fucked up. It's 4am and I'm eating cold pizza before bed.

>It's 4am and I'm eating cold pizza before bed.
Yeah, everybody does that fuckface, because its not one of the meals of the day. But I wouldn't eat eggs and bacon for dinner or a roast with gravy for lunch.

That's insane. Like having hot dogs on Thanksgiving. Some customs should be respected, and the age-old traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus are what normal people do. When you grow more mature you will look back in embarrassment at your youthful silliness.

the majority of breakfast foods are calorie-dense and quick to make

>> No.17000596

Before electricity making breakfast was annoying since there was low light and you had to get a fire going, etc. Most people just had stale bread and leftover dinner the next morning. Farmers would at least have fresh milk and eggs in the morning. Also cured or smoked meats are popular because they don't require much prep or cooking. Most breakfast foods are designed to be easy to make and calorie dense.

I smoke a lot of fish and salmon and usually have left overs. I’m not really a breakfast person but if I do it’s usually left over fish, I’ll have it with an egg or some bread and cheese. Cold salmon is the tits on a summer morning

nothing special or ethnic, just whatever cheap dollar store cookies you could get in a big tin or packet for two bucks. usually butter cookies, ginger snaps, almond windmills, shortbread, stage planks, those hard oatmeal cookies with the white icing, stuff like that.

oh well if that's the case, i still eat cookies for breakfast all of the time, and there are a lot of lighter high fiber options from european brands if you can find them, the italian ones are not super rare. belvita is okay, but too sweet for me. if you're okay for sweet biscuits, punjabi tea biscuits come in interesting flavors (tumeric and cumin i remember being weird but good) but are made with a lot of sugar and butter. pic rel is my favorite biscuit when i don't feel like eating, kinda light, not too sweet, a decent amount of fiber and vitamins against eating nothing at all.
