Haven't had it since prepandemic. The bread shrunk by like 30% width-wise. The grilled chicken portions shrunk into itty bitty strips. Of course they fucked up my simple pickup order and the bread was hard and stale. On top of all that the prices went up. This place is fucking trash.

I got a meatball sub because my retard down syndrome step uncle always gets one, and I wanted to see if they were good or if he was just being a retard about it. The bread was barely wider then 1 meatball. I'm talking like 3 fingers put together. It sucked anyways and their chicken always makes me crazy depressed for days afterwards. Like some weird side effect of the chemicals in it.

>> No.16984663

>>16984543
Yep it blows.

They kept their prices the same after inflation the past year or two and just took half the meat off your sub. You have to pay like 3$ extra to get a normal sub.

What's a good place to get a proper sammy anyways these days? Jersey Mikes is 15$+ for everything and they just rape the sandwich with their "Sauce". I'm on the west coast so please someone throw something my way.

I had In N Out once when I visited a buddy I met online. He wouldn't stop raving about how good it was. "bro, you have to get the burger and fries animal style". So I did.

Wow, so they dump thousand island dressing on everything, bravo. This was totally worth waiting 30 minutes in line for.

He was also crazy for Five Guys "Bro, peanuts and peanut oil!" and Smashburger "it's not their burger that's good, but the fries!", both equally as overrated as In N Out. These days he's all about Raising Canes and Chic-Fil-A.

I think I'm seeing a pattern of shit taste, but influenced by marketing and chains here.

>> No.16984800

>>16984756
Chic-Fil-A does a terrific club sandwich. It's overpriced (What isn't?) but it's one of the better chicken sammys out there. It's grilled too and they have a nice marinade. Agree on the In and Out. Just another shitty mass marketing campaign.

>> No.16984809

it was a decent fast food option until the panoramic.now all the veggies are slimy and wilted, they never have the cheese you want, and the sandwich """"artists"""" are just completely braindead. i usually don't complain about fast food workers but good god they fail to follow even the most basic directions. i've been to multiple subways since 2020 and they're all like this now.

My biggest complaint is the absolute state of the bread and ingredients. The bread is fucking thin! and the toppings have decreased in quality and quantity. Every zoomer that works there acts like they are so offended when you ask for a decent amount of toppings. I wish I could have lived in the mid 20th century and experienced peak service.

step aside BMT bros, the GOAT is coming through

its $8 instead of $9 for a BMT and you actually get more meat to begin with

BMT footlong is
6 genoa salami
6 pepperoni
6 slices of deli ham

SI footlong is
10 slices of genoa salami
10 slices of pepperoni

but here's the thing, the deli ham is super thin and bland so what you wanna do is get the SI and pay $1.50 to add bacon. this way is 50 cents more but is a much better sub

Subway isn't bad per se, it's just a combination of (A) every other sub shop in business is better and (B) getting a good sandwich at subway requires that you shell out extra money for "double" meat so you don't get a shitty little vegetable sandwich. What subway calls "double meat" is standard for pretty much every other chain sub shop and that's the brand's real failing.

>> No.16985905

>>16984835
Noticeably better than Subway, but still just a sub chain with a "quality ceiling" typical of any fast food. Their packaging and dining rooms are high-quality, they give you a pickle wedge with each sandwich and they almost always have a couple dozen different hot sauces in the condiment area. For me, it's an overall 5.9/10.

I haven't eaten there in 20 years.
I had 3 consecutive visits where they were all allowed to sell tomatoes so thin and transparent, and to add 1 extra slice when you asked them, like that would be enough.
I decided I didn't need to eat anywhere that cheap, ever again.

Never went back.

For something simple as putting bread vegetables and meat it's damn expensive.

Used to be good 5-7 years ago where prices were comparable to other local fast food. The ingredients were kind of fresh and not that heavy processed like a Macdonalds patty.

Nowdays it's just bad...people don't buy from subway often and it shows with stale bread dry meat and so on.

Subway offers convenients above all else..anyone can make a sandwich but not anyone is bothered to keep 5 kinds of meat and 6 sauces in his fridge. Bit it does not cost that much.

I have not gotten fast food in a few months, so I decided to hit up 5 guys. Nearly 20$ for a cheeseburger and fries.

The fries were soggy and I got attitude from the staff because they thought I was stealing my own order (I paid online).

I am never going to 5 guys for the rest of my life. I think I'm going to be hitting up all my old fast food/restaurants one last time in the next month or so, then giving up on it for the rest of my life. It's so far beyond being worth the price at this point that it's just not justifiable. I'm not rich enough to throw away money like that.

$5 footlong of the day is hard to beat, only beaten by the $5 Large Dominoes pizza in terms of value.
