Why is coconut such a polarizing food? I happen to love it.

I think he means how people either tend to love it or hate it

I think the shitty coconut in candy turns people off. I don't mind it, but actual coconut and even the general flavor is way better than the lil chocolate shreds

taste is okay
what I don't like is shredded coconut. chewy indigestable plant fibers doesn't appeal to me, and I would prefer if the coconut flavor was more subdued.

coconut is okay
I don't care for it by itself but it's pretty good in confections

Don't you just love a mouthful of coconut shreds when the chocolate from your Bounty is already gone

Too much fiber, it makes it very chewy. But I enjoy dishes with coconut milk.

bounty is a crime against humanity.
I do not believe there is a single person who loves it.

I rabu coconut, even just the texture of shredded coconut with hardly any coconut flavor in it. I'm the person all the desserts that have been rolled in coconut shreds are made for; I go for those first.
I hardly have any sweet tooth though and I eat dessert like once a year so maybe it's that people that like sweets a lot generally don't like coconut.

The texture of cocunut dishes varies wildly and can be disgusting, there's a sweet spot between dry and gooey which many don't achieve

It's a shame that the vast majority of coconuts i buy at the store are fucking rotten when i crack them open, i had to stop getting them.

How coconut is polarizing? I never encountered anyone with strong opinion on coconut in any way.
