How much does /ck/ spend on delivery services like Uber Eats?

Never used any because I have no smart phone. Out here they only work in town anyway, too many mountains and shit.

I haven't ordered food delivery in years.

I've spent over $200 on it just this month alone.

you know that regular phones still exist right? or do you live in a place where the whole village shares one phone?

i spent an absurd amount during the lockdown but then i just got into the habit of ordering groceries.

I live in a super exclusive expensive vacation destination in a super rugged mountainous area so there's no point in even having a cell phone because they can't put up enough towers to make it practical outside of town, where everybody gets great reception. I literally have a home phone because this place is so small that there's no point in carrying a cell phone and there's no service once you leave the immediate area of town.

>> No.16851343

$0. The only good thing about the lockdown for me was being at home and having more time to cook.

Back when I was fat and couldn't drive I would spend like $200 a month, now I have my driver's license I spend around $25-50 maybe? The delivery costs and tips really killed me, now I have no excuse not to drive and if I'm too lazy to then I eat something I have at home kek

>> No.16852202

close to 200$
luckily I don't own a car and only get the urge to order every couple of months, not weekly.

I do cook, but some months have been stressful due to covid vaccination shit

I only use them with coupons anyway food delivery apps are crap.

>> No.16852663

No more than $100 a month, only cause none of the Popeyes or ramen joints in my city are a reasonable bike ride away.
I did have to order pickup on Uber eats from my local taco joint cause I couldn't find my card, I hate that they raise the prices on these apps

$15 total each time like 2-3 times/week. Really trying to stop, I just get so lazy with cooking since I rarely have an appetite. I only eat once a day though so I don't usually spend much more eating out vs. buying groceries

>> No.16852896

Pre-pandemic, I was spending $200-$300 a month. During the pandemic, $300-$400 a month. Now? Maybe $30-$60 a month, if that. Prices got so high that I can't justify it anymore. The money I was spending on delivery was much cheaper than the DUI I'd have gotten though, so I don't regret a thing.

>>16852866
>I only eat once a day though so I don't usually spend much more eating out vs. buying groceries
Same. I'm a single dude, and during the panny I'd do like a $20 order from the local taco place for like four burritos and eat for at least two days, if not more.

I couldn't figure out how to use it on my phone so I just never used it.

They cracked down on it and started banning people form uber. The deliveroo where I live now asks for a 4 digit code that you and the driver know so I don't know if this works any more.

>> No.16854660

>>16854303
I got that code exchange the first time I used it, but haven't had to do it for the past ~3 orders. They do the spacing for you.

>> No.16854677

Very little.
I use Uber eats when they send me “we miss you!” emails with coupon codes for something nuts like “$20 off a $25 order”.
In which case I’ll use it, and not use it again until I get another similar promotion.

>> No.16855171

Tried it a couple of times, but it's pretty shameful how much some people are willing to pay for convenience. Better to walk to the end of the street, even when stoned.

>> No.16855685

>they majorly fucked up my order
This is my experience with third-party delivery every time. And they never fix it, only partial refunds. Never tried uber eats but grubhub and door dash especially can fuck off.
Only order delivery from places which use their own drivers.

>> No.16855896

>>16852284
The car rides are like 25-40 minutes and I live in Canada, so as much as I would like to do that it would be too difficult for me. I only buy takeout now if I really feel it's justified for me to drive that much just for food

>> No.16855932

>>16851233
People actually use that shit? If I’m desperate enough for takeout I just look for deliveries. At least the delivery guy working for a place has to pretend to give a shit, I could never trust some random with my food like that unless I’m ordering beans and other groceries.

About $500 a month here. I never pay full price though, I always get the deals

4 burgers at bogo prices is an easy decision
