How do you feel about Bacon Cheeseburger? I feel like some people find it completely unnecessary and gratuitous to have the two meats together, but I think bacon really perfectly compliments a fried or grilled ground beef patty, it just works just fine, like peanut butter and jelly.

I like ketchup on burgers . If the bacon has a smoky flavor the ketchup then makes the burger taste like bbq . I love bbq but that’s not what I want my hamburger to taste like .

it's for sure my most ordered burger.
they have a frozen double bacon cheeseburger
it takes me 3 paper towels and disassembling the sandwich to heat it separately to keep it from being a soggy death bomb

I'll have "the lot". Bacon, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, beetroot & pineapple. An Aussie classic

I agree with you. I’m a big fan of bacon cheeseburgers. Bacon adds a lot of salt and rendered crispy fat that complements the beef and cheese quite well

Don't think it adds much. Usually the umami is overwhelming if you put bacon on a well seasoned patty with cheese.

It's trash. A hamburger is essentially the most tender form of beef you can put in your mouth, so why are we putting chewy, tough leathery strips of pork that totally disrupt that texture in the middle of the sandwich? It's a brainlet move that destroys the integrity of the burger.

The baller move is to use bacon fat with a lean grind (say, 95/5 or 90/10) to bring the fat percentage up to 30%. You get all of the bacon flavor, none of the chewiness, and a moist-ass unctuous-as-fuck burger.

If you're grilling thiccc backyard-style burgers, you can also intersperse little cooked bacon lardons throughout the patty, so you get just a tiny little bacon explosion as you're munching on beef.

Bacon is just a conduit for fat and salt flavor so it pretty much just complements the whole concept of a cheesburger

>> No.16848424

I feel like it's sup par for the price almost everywhere like just to check on the list of ingredients.

It costs 1/4 of the burger and the bacon flavor gets totally killed by rest of the ingredients.
And when I pick the burger it's always two thin slices that you can almost see through no wonder it gets lost in everything else.

Then it's not crispy... actually kind of soggy almost sure it's the cheapest kind that taste like water and fat.

Can't expect a proper slice of bacon when it's done by underpaid employee with a boss that skimps on quality quantity and salary... long live capitalism and big corpo

I like it when I make it at home but whenever I get it from a burger place the bacon has the constituency of leather and I'm always left with just leathery bacon in my mouth since all the other stuff was actually chewable.
