Looks good.
I made what was basically a canard au vin a while ago. Used white wine rather than red.
You will want to render out some of the fat and save that. Can't just use it all in the dish like with a chicken.

so far i've made chicken duck noodle soup from the carcass and wings as suggested by >>16813910
and roasted one of the breasts, first time cooking duck and i think it didn't turn out too bad

definitely better than chicken, i'd compare it's taste more to red meat rather than chicken. the breast tasted similar to steak almost, very tender and fatty.

sounds interesting, i'll have to try it. i've got another duck from a butcher family friend so i'll be able to try a few different dishes. i trimmed most of the fat and plan to render it all out and save for later.
