Just another fine example of why Social Democracy is the best system. It isn't leftist bullshit, it still provides economic democracy (arguably more), but it still provides for it's people and regulates the quality of work and goods enough that people are happier. Much lower poverty and crime rates as well.In turn, the economy prospers. Better businesses and products, happier people, wealthier economy. And everyone has an inherent right to the two things that everyone requires in life: education and healthcare.
Why does America resist such a system? Because idealism clouds the judgement of americans. In america, you'll only find three people. Neoliberal democrats (who aren't all that different from republicans but pretend to be), hardened republicans who don't realize that their system is flawed because they have their head shoved too far up their ass, and bastard communists. None of these people have brains.

Fuck you

I literally live in Germany, and I pay out my fucking ass for health insurance here, which is far less efficient than any treatment I'd get in the U.S. I'm just glad I haven't been sick in the four years I have been here, and for most of the times I've visited home I just have my routine checkups done there. God knows how long I would wait to get an appointment to figure out what's wrong, just for my doctor to tell me to drink Kräutertee and take two weeks off of work when I actually need a transfusion, medication, or real fucking treatment. They won't do anything until you're nearly at death's door because the healthcare scheme is fucking bankrupt.

>maybe having universal healthcare reduces the barriers to innovation as people can take risks with starting small businesses...

I also assumed this as a dumb kid and it turned out to be a total falsehood. Entrepeneurship is a completely overrated scheme of application upon application to state funding agencies who practically refuse understand anything about the project you are trying to realize, and banks who are unwilling to assist in the smallest of ways. You can sit paying fees to have your company open for years, and not even be able to consider taking out a loan to pursue a project or any reasonable expansion. Instead you're relegated to subcontract your labor to bigger firms for piss-poor rates, it's a fucking disgrace. VCs are a complete joke, and/or nonexistent outside the busy capitals that basically conduct commerce like American governments anyway because they realize how fucking dumb the whole scheme they've devised is.

Social democracy is a scam. Now I am just here on this continent to try to enjoy the geographical exoticism and have a few nice years of travel.

It looks like we're hitting another "food shortage" on top of a labor shortage. So everything is going up because it's becoming harder to get things and companies are having to pay higher wages to convince people to start working again.

>>16800089
>But at least our wages are going up too, right?
I know that this is food-related thread on a Mongolian basket weaving forum, but I had a random thought today about how I have no idea what people want. I remember people being up in arms with wanting $15/hr as the new minimum wage. A lot of companies and I think even a few states are offering that now. I stumbled on a hiring ad Facebook and out of blunt curiosity I read the comments because I thought $15/hr to put things in a box in a warehouse was pretty good money for a fairly easy job. However, there were tons of people whining that $15/hr wasn't a livable wage and companies needed to raise wages to even higher amounts.

I get that $15/hr isn't much, especially if you're working part-time, but it's doable and way more than $7.25/hr. I'm all for people asking for more or for what they believe they are worth. I do feel like companies do fuck employees over pay wise to maximize their profits. But do people really think they can get or deserve $50K a year on their first day at McDonald's? Or am I just that out of touch with the world?

Thanks for letting me ramble.

But there's an issue of us no longer manufacturing shit here and no longer getting what we need to feed the arteries (AKA INTERSTATES) that keep America afloat. >I'd rather not have the government check if I've made a racist comment before fixing my cancer.
This is not necessary for social democracy. Social democracy is economics, not government. We can control the government aspect. Canada doesn't deny people treatment for their political standings for example and neither does Norway or Denmark. This might be the case in america because our neoliberal population has skyrocketed, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
>I'd rather not have fat people, illegal immigrants, single moms and hypochondriacs blocking up wait times.
Fat people seldom exist in most social democracies (with the exception of canada) because they have proper health programs, proper food regulation (americans will call this "controlling what they eat" because americans are fat asses), and proper physical education programs. So you needn't worry about fat people existing in general.
Illegal immigrants can be dealt with. Again, that's government, not economics. It impacts economics, but it's not inherent to it. That is a government thing. Being permissive with immigration is not necessary for social democracy. We can have tight border patrols if we wanted.
Single moms and their kids need healthcare just as much as you do. I don't know why you bring them into this. You are no more important than a mother and her child (so long as they are there legally). Hypochondriacs will exist regardless of the system, the only way to fix this would be to change the way hospitals screen patients before they come in, but this wouldn't make the ER the "emergency room" then, now would it?

Everything you just said is basically a non-point.
