*charges you $70 for a pizza*
How is this still in business? Who pays for it?

We're a very rich country. Food is a big prestige thing these days. So people are willing to pay excessively to get famous foods that they aren't near. Just like the British getting ice shipped into India for their Gin and Tonics, some people pay 70 dollars for St. Louis ribs.

It's just a rich person thing.

How is the food possibly still good after transportation though?

I think for a lot of people it's for one-time orders. Say someone really badly wants to try Chicago style deep dish tomato soup in a bread bowl, they can use this to order it instead of paying for 2 way flight fare to travel to Chicago and back just to try their soup.

>Lou Manalti’s deep dish from Chicago, cheese + sausage
>$67.99 for 2 with goldbelly
>check the actual restaurant‘s website
>a cheese/sausage pizza is $27.65

Doesn’t seem like that insane of a markup.

i live in a town that attracts richfag tourists.
the town's entire economy is based around extracting money from dumb richfags with shit like $70 pizzas and $35 burgers.
Fucking hilarious watching these cunts pay $13 for a glass of beer which only cost me $1 to fill.

It's a status/face thing. It seems retarded to us salt-of-the-earth normal people, but when you have THAT much money, it's not so much about value or even quality, it's about showing off.
