That's be, like, a 600g loaf of bread of any kind. Or 3L of any sugar-sweetened beverage? What exactly did you eat, I'm curious now. I usually drink up to 1.5L of cold water within waking up and going to work (10--30' later), but 3L is a bit of a stretch.

They need a lot of salt to reduce the sweetness to a tolerable level.

It may actually be a lot more than 300g

I had 3 croissants, 2 cinnamon rolls, a container of honey roasted peanuts, half a bag of kettle chips, and about 1.5l of dr pepper. Later I'll probably get popeyes for dinner

well, you do you. your decision affect you mostly, but when a majority of a country is feed big pharma, and big food, big oil, big cereal etc., then taxes get introduced or become higher, to attempt a government intervention in people's diets, then even the 3. party suffers.
Try low-carb/keto (just not anybody selling you stuff), you can do it fairly easily: you'll certainly be less hunger and be faster satiated for longer periods (as opposed to a carb-insulin rollercoaster).

just exercise briefly before you eat sugar, and eat sugar with cinammon.
problem solved

How can you be sure? For some slob to take in well over 1/2 lb of sugar in a day, him eating it all at once is not entirely out of the question. I'd argue that both intravenous injection as well as sugar-water enemas are even possibilities.

Always been curious about this. Why not just use less sugar to reduce the sweetness?

Forget the exact term used in the industry for this, but if it has to be one product (say one coke instead of 10 types of coke catering to differing tastes) they do testing before release to maximize response in the greatest amount of people. Group 1 gets some mixture of sweeteners, group 2 another, and so on. Given you can vary carbonization, and add just about anything disolvable in a liquid, I don't see why a little salt (2 : 133 is 1.5%) couldn't make it slightly more appealing to some.

Baskin Robbins actually stopped selling this a while ago. Now they serve a slightly less terrible version with "only" 1440 calories and 142 grams of sugar for the same size.

Do people really count calories and sugar intake? I just make sure I hit my protein and carb macros for a day and I'm done, mostly protein because if I've hit that - surely the rest falls in line.

I wish I was smart. engineering food to appeal the highest possible number of people sounds fun. of course, its probably soulless when its generally complete garbage fast food. mcdonalds might be interesting because they're top dog, though still shit, but I cant imagine being the food engineer for burger king
