I use mine all the time for stews, soups and occasionally for deep frying. Don't fall for the le cruset meme, just get a lodge brand.

i had a cheap enameled one from aldi that i used to bake bread a few times, and then the enamel exploded while it was preheating recently. so i have ordered a raw cast iron dutch oven to replace it.

Very, you mix your dough mid afternoon, let it rest overnight at room temp, then throw it in the dutch oven in the morning and bake it for like 25-30 mins with the lid on, then another 15-20 mins with the lid off.

Yeah it's about as easy as bread making gets.

Just make sure you let it rest for an hour or two after baking.
