When I'm in MA I'm gonna have to go with Big Y. Even when they open in small towns off major roads they build absolutely beautiful stores with a little coffee shop inside and a lunch counter. The seafood counter will grill or fry your fish or steam your shellfish for you free of charge. So nice to go in at 6pm and order half a dozen lobsters and at 6:10 they're all steamed and wrapped up and at 6:20 we're home eating lobsta.

Honorable Mention: Hannaford

When I'm in Stralia it's Coles 100%. Woolies fags can fight me.

>Have to unload groceries

This is true at Wegmans, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods as well, and yes, I'll admit those are the fanciest places I've been, and I really don't know of anywhere fancier and frankly I don't want to spend extra money at the grocery store just for convenience. No one has a bagger, anymore, you bag your shit yourself everywhere and you're lying if you say there's a place that still bags for you, that hasn't been the industry standard in years.
With self checkout, I scan and bag, sure, but I'm out of there in a quarter of the time it takes to rely on someone whose only job is to scan items, yet they can't even do that quickly and efficiently.
In summation, eat my shit encrusted hemorrhoidal asshole, wagie, your days are numbered.

In the PNW I have a soft spot for Fred Meyer, which is owned by Kroger. I live further away now, but when I was going in all the time they used to have the friendliest and most helpful cashiers. Safeway is pretty much the same. Fred Meyer is a department store, but Safeway has a better variety of ice cream and beer.

Food4Less is pretty comfy and has a lot of mexican stuff, and a really great beer aisle.

Winco has good prices, but it's clear on the other end of town. Their produce is a shit show though. They have a good selection, but it will probably be moldy by the time you get home.

I like a super local place called Cartwrights because they have a lot of weird specialty stuff and local meats. It's worth the drive for a deli sandwich.

DESU though Walmart and Costco are the two I usually go to first for a lot of stuff, simply because they're both conveniently located for me.
