my parents would rarely buy me soda, fast food, and other junk food growing up. however, she frequently bought lunchables for an effortless lunch. i convinced her to buy me the all star burger lunchables with cola and chocolate.
once a week in middle school i'd get a teriyaki chicken bowl with pineapple from a local hawaiian bbq (shit was so cash).
before obama came into office, my high school sold these local bean and cheese burritos and a medium size cup of soda for $1.75. once a week i'd get this combo.
otherwise i'd get a pb&j/turkey sandwich/veggie sandwich with a bag of chips, caprisun, and piece of fruit/chocolate pudding/jello or leftovers from last nights dinner.

Thank Michelle Obama for lunches like this
I always got the teriyaki because the chicken was actually pretty good until junior year when they introduced chicken with extra globs of fat, tendons, and other shit people in 1st world countries tend to not eat as much
Even the salads became shit too.
Because of that I became a fat fuck and put baked hot cheetos in the calzones

when my school was giving out school breakfast and lunch due to the lockdowns I got to retry everything but i didn't eat this.
I remember unless they made it themselves it tasted like shit.
I now just make it at home with jalepenos and onions for some extra goodness

My dad sent me to school with a hot pocket or a corn dog and nothing else. Mostly corn dogs cause they were cheaper. I went to a small behavioral academy with a microwave. You can probably understand why. Most meals at home were marchuan Ramen that I cooked for myself or my dad's special hot ham and cheese sandwiches. They were pan fried nasty bulk hillshire farms ham on white bread with American or cheddar. Anyway now I'm a 34 year old never married childless dysfunctional drunk without friends.

Oh wait fuck I forgot there was that 6 month period where he bought white castle sliders from Costco in a 48 bulk pack and sent me to school with a pack of two. No wonder I grew up malnourished. I never had breakfast and my lunch was always like 250 calories.

My dad was a cook and health oriented and always sent me to school with way too much food, a full meat and vegetable sandwich, bundle of grapes, apple, water. I was always jealous of kids who just had a pb and j and pudding cup because thats all you want to eat as a kid.

Indiana, late-90's-2005-ish. We were never served anything that needed unpackaging, except for things like chips are sliced fruit. Our lunches were handmade sandwiches, rectangle pizza and giant bowls of chili with peanut butter sandwiches. I skipped so much school that I may not be remembering anything right though.
