My point isn't that not having a MD makes his arguments bad, or that they would be correct if he had a MD. My point is pretending to have a MD (or at the very least accepting that people think it is a MD) is something a conman would do and is at the very least reason to be suspicious.

Oh god fuck this guy so much.
He's an osteopath not a nutritionist.
Carbs are a normal part of a healthy diet. We get most of our energy from carbohydrates, at least in the west.
He triggered me with admitting that he thought carbs "fueled cancer cells".
We've been eating rice and potatoes for a very long time. OK he may be in great shape for his mid 50s but just fuck his opinions on anything.

My favorite is when there are a clique of doctors that have their own entirely separate medical narrative and uniform prescriptions to fit that narrative, which stays completely static regardless of the wider world of scientific research.

Look at the PCRM, it's a collection of vegan MDs that worship the China Study and are all-in on prescribing high carb, ultra-low-fat diets (to the degree some of them tell you to avoid nuts), still argue that dietary cholesterol is a huge risk factor for heart disease and that there is no controversy, and say that olive oil is terrible for you.

Keto MDs do this too to some degree, the pattern is:
1. Develop scapegoat
2. hypothesis for health conditions which implicates the scapegoat
3. Weave a narrative about how the truth is suppressed by some industry lobby and if you you do X you'll be healthy
4. Support your statements by cherrypicking some studies and extrapolating from them to fit your hypothesis, bring up a few contradicting studies and nitpick their methodology so you look balanced
5. Sell books and supplements

All the net carb and sweetener hassle pushed me into whole food carnivore eating.

You didn't change anything else about your diet except cutting carbs? Like you didn't start eating vegetables you don't normally eat and might've had a reaction to that? I'm not sure if I've heard of anyone getting a rash from cutting carbs although I suppose it's possible some people are better at digesting them and might not do well when they're removed.

I have the opposite problem where any amount of starch or sugar makes me break out in a similar rash. My skin is almost perfectly clear since I've only been eating meat. But I hope it's just something with my digestive system needing to heal and I won't have to do this forever. I'd really like to eat a peach.

You probably were getting a lot of micronutrients solely from carb sources and then lost that micronutrient intake when you cut out carbs. You need to make sure you get good nutrition, anything you get solely from carbs needs to be gotten somewhere else. Eating beef and eggs will help immensely because they're very dense with micronutrients.
