i prefer the no added sugars version of pic related

i work outside all day and after a few hours you need something other than water, something about the human body's PH setup

to be fair the average american is so addicted to sugar that they crash hard if they go more than an hour without their fix, so it is needed for most americans to "recover" from the trauma of their body trying to return to a healthy blood-sugar level

I drink too much while hiking, and used that as a basis to plan future hikes. The result was 20kg of water in my pack.
So I'm rucking on a city bike track for 1-1.5h without drinking. I can manage it but feel fairly muddled at the end. That said I no longer look like I jumped into a lake.
I swap to a one sip per 5 minutes water ration and that actually works out great. I could quarter that weight if it were sustainable.
I swap the water for sugar free version of OP and it's even better, I'm more clear headed.
I swap for Monster's version of basically this + 160mg caffeine and I don't even feel dead when I'm done.
The shit works.

Also active people can absolutely get away with consuming large amounts of sugar. I can't because I work a desk job and that small amount tips the balance, but don't confuse sports drink with weight loss shake.

They used to just put water in the green gatorade canteens back in the 90s, I feel like that's less common now than it was but I don't watch handegg or apehoop or other fag sports like that. You will occasionally see nascar drivers drinking regular gatorade during rain delays or when there's an accident so bad they have to park the cars and the like but I've also seen them eating slices of ham and drinking soda and shit like that during delays

I drink a lot of gatorade though, like someone else said if you're outside in the heat for hours sometimes it's better than just water. I think back when it was invented it had more relevance to athletes but now that they're so more rigerous about nutrition its sort of obsolete at high levels. Idk if that's true it's just a guess
