Popeyes is my favorite. I like the heat.
Burger King's is actually damn good. I'd get it again of I ate fast food more than once a month.

For me, the McChicken might not stand out as the flashiest sandwich or anything but it does stand the test of time. It is the stalwart workhorse that is always there for you and never gives anything less than 110%. Sure it’s been dabbling in some fads lately, they’re trying to dress it up and make it something it’s not, but we all know that’s not the real McChicken.

Perfectly toasted bun, all white meat patty with perfect texture and seasoning, chopped iceberg lettuce to deliver a balanced taste of freshness and texture without overwhelming the sandwich. And of course the McChicken Sauce. It’s not mayo, it’s McChicken Sauce. It’s the linchpin that really contributes to the gestalt of this truly wonderful sandwich. Whether it is a snack, lunchtime or dinner item or - dare I say - late night indulgence, the McChicken stands above the rest if only because it is always there for you and is consistently satisfying. The perfect balance of seasoned umami that fills you up so profoundly that it’s almost like our stomachs have a McChicken-shaped compartment that can only be filled by this modern manna.

While the chicken sandwich war rages on the McChicken stands alone. I’d say it was the winner but it was the winner decades before the battle was even conceived. It IS the chicken sandwich, it’s that simple.

The one MCD is fucking atrocious. Threw half away and had a bowl of cereal. And I’m not even a hater, stick with the mchicken honestly. Chic filet is still the best.

Popeye's. All the other ones are pretty decent though, EXCEPT Wendy's.

I had the spicy KFC one today and it’s pretty good but nothing to write home about. Haven’t had the Burger King one yet but maybe I’ll try it. They’re food is usually stoner tier garbage but there is a time and place for it.

Not sure about this McDonald’s one because I don’t think it’s in Canada (yet)?

Popeyes and burger king were definitely very similar, both good. Crunchy, spicy, but very greasy and they always put a fuckton of sauce on which I have to take some off. So much sauce both above and beneath the patty that just overpower the taste.
Chick-fil-a is a classic, but very different from all the others. It's not at all spicy, very good flavor and goes great with the fries. I don't think it really belongs on the list with the others, it's a different sort of sandwich.
Mcdonalds was okay, I don't remember much because I was just hungry as fuck at the time and didn't care what I was eating.

Agreed. The BK version uses a crust similar to Chick-fil-A which I don’t think really goes right with the brioche, Mayo and overall size of the sand which. Also I thought BK was a little over brined. Overall BK is a little too wet and mushy. Popeyes on the other hand has a great crunch to compliment the Mayo and brioche.

Hardees/Carl's Jr. > Popeyes > Chik-Fil-A > Zaxby's > Church's > BK > KFC > McD > Wendy's

Haven't tried/10
Arby's, Jack-in-the-Box, Sonic

Hardees is surprisingly really damn good. Would be leaps and bounds the best if they could actually make some better sauces available like Sweet & Sour. BK gets points for actually resembling what it looks like in commercials, but unfortunately is plain as fuck in terms of taste. McD is disappointment all around.

maybe it was my local one but the one BK chicken sandwich I tried was absolutely horrendous. It was like they used the sauce to attempt to cover up a really shitty chicken breast. It was worse than just taking some tendies at home, microwaving them and sticking it on white bread. I'm usually not picky but I threw it out.

CFA and popeyes still reign supreme.

Yeah, I grabbed it on a whim and was pretty surprised. It was super moist and quite tasty. If it weren't for the bun, I wouldn't have guessed it'd come from a fast food place.

>caring about calories when it comes to fast food
If you're eating fast food, you've clearly already given up on your caloric intake for the day, so who gives a fuck? Aren't most fast food sandwiches in the 600-800 calorie range anyway? What did you expect?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the McChicken. The flavor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of culinary science most of the quality will go over a typical consumer’s head. There’s also the sandwich's nihilistic preparation, which is deftly woven into its characterisaton- it's personal gastronomy draws heavily from early 40s burger joint aesthetic, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this sandwich, to realise that it's not just delicious- it says something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike the McChicken truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the class in /ck/'s existential catchphrase “For me, it's the McChicken,” which itself is a cryptic reference to vintage 40s advertising. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as McDonald's genius gastronomy unfolds itself on their plates. What fools.. how I pity them.

>> No.16622797

I'm honestly thinking this thread is just a shillfest or the quality varies massively from franchise to franchise. I've tried burger king's twice /ck/'s insistence and it was the worst by far and I even got them at different locations. KFC's was pretty underwhelming too. McDick's was actually great when I got it too. People complained about the patty being small but I didn't see that being the case at all.

CFA and popeyes still reign supreme.
