The buns suck.
They're crumbly and airy and leave your mouth full of powder seemingly, and it really takes away and dominates over the rest of the burger.

Baked Potato with sour cream, and Chili, with chocolate milk shake is pretty much the only things worth eating at wendys

Years ago when you switched your buns recipe you fucked up bigtime. People actually prefer the flat/greasy style burger buns.
Because fundamentally burger buns are Handles to hold onto everything else in the burger while also being edible at the same time.

Eating keto burgers using leaf lettuce as the bun made me realize psychologically what the Bun actually represents.

At least MCD's sorta understood this and made sure for their "middle bun" on Big Macs at least you have a ton of sauce and moist lettuce to soak it with.

wendy's is always either the best or the worst of its fast food tier in between

like half the time I go there, the burger looks like something out of a commercial and tastes hot and fresh, and the fries are hot and perfectly salted, but then the other half, the fries are flavorless cold starch sticks and the burger is burned to a crisp and looks like someone sat on it

at least with mcdonald's the changes have been so minimal and "boiling the frog" in nature that the food tastes exactly as i remember it

double quarter pounders are the best national fast food burgers, and now they're juicier than they've ever been since they switched to fresh beef
