Oh shit you just unlocked a childhood memory. My dad used to boil bacon before pan frying it. Same with hot dogs.

I don’t remember why. He’s dead now can’t ask him. Anyone else do this for some reason?

If you can get a piece like pic related you can boil it and then slice it afterwards. Eat as is or fry the slices.
