Seems to me OP can think for himself and doesn't hold meme leaves in high regard just because everyone else does. Chefs are free thinkers, line cooks are recipe-followers. In life, you are the line cooks at your station, awaiting to fulfill instructions from free thinkers like OP. You don't know what to do when given ingredients unless you have a recipe to follow. You don't know how to adapt or use ingredients in novel ways. Your brain is unable to discard useless ingredients like the meme leaf because all your recipes include it.

So keep using the little leaf because the recipe on reddit said to. We'll keep breaking new ground and carving our names in history. That's that.
