The problem with Marco and Gordon is people don't realise what their areas of expertise is. They are fancy poncy French/Italian/English cuisine chefs.

TV ruined them because it asked them to be home cooking advisors and that's not who they are. They didn't learn from the bottom up. They went in to high pressure environments and learnt from the best. Marco is more based because his Mum was apparently a great home cook but Gordon didn't care about cooking until his football career ended.
