I could fuck with it no question if shrimp "salad" wasn't such a bastardization of shrimp. potato salad, pasta salad, most tuna salad, it's like they intentionally cover up the tasty parts of their base with a muted cream flavor. Honestly I'd give this a shot though, looks pretty good, is that a giant spinach leaf?

How is this abominable?

Shrimp salad is technically just mayo, crème fraiche, red onion, chives, dill, cayenne, salt, pepper and some shrimp.

I imagine it being rather tasty actually.

We have what's called Taco Friday.

Mainly because it's easy to do and cheaper than take out.

It's literally just fry the minced meat with the taco spices that comes with the kit, make the guacamole, cut the lettuce, paprika, etc. throw the taco shells in the oven, and you're done.

Taco sauce, shredded cheese, etc. are all bought prepared and are available available fairly cheap.

You can feed a family of four on tacos for the same price as one pizza.

mashed potatoes and meatballs with creamsauce and lingon is staple food in Sweden, this is just the fast food or Ikea version of it though, not homemade

that looks to be cooked crawfish with bread and probably either some tzatziki mix or skagenröra (which is a sort of shrimp mix condiment). Crawfish is very popular here, much more so than lobster.

It's called Julbord, as in Sweden Christmas is called Jul (derived from Yule).

Smörgåsbord (sandwich table) is like it sounds, it's usually a big table of different types of sandwiches and cheese and ham and whatever else condiments you like having on your sandwich, where you can pick and choose from a large variety of things to make a sandwich you like. It's commonly served at breakfast in schools, or sometimes workplaces will serve it to their employees before a big meeting. Could also be served as an appetizer at a wedding or a funeral.

These are optional. They never served that when we had that in school for example, and mom never had it when we were growing up.

So it's usually either creme fraiche/sourcream or cheese, but usually not both.

Wrong. You trade the sourcream for guacamole or the red taco sauce, not for cheese. You always have cheese and 1 or 2 of the sauces.

No, this is wrong. The meme here is that people falsy think it's tradition to eat it in all of Sweden. While in reality, it's much more of a regional thing.
In some southern regions, you won't find anyone eating it. Whilst where I live, southern Norrland, every family eats it at least once a year.
I'm gonna eat some tomorrow actually. It tastes great and I don't care what some high-born Stockholmer thinks. You can stick to your sandnigger kebab.

>hard shells (warmed in the oven)

>minced meat with the usual spice mix
>diced tomatoes
>diced cucumber
>corn
>"hot" sauce
>shredded herrgård
