What I remember as american food growing up as a young kid in Iowa

>spaghetti/pasta soup
>fried chicken
>pig cracklin casserole
>hamburger helper with ground pork
>unidentifed breaded hotdogs on a stick
>boiled alligator meat
>one time, deep fried pancakes
The rest of the world has no idea how bad it really is. No one in america knows what the fuck pizza margherita is or baked sweet potatoes. American food is disgusting. Literally the most portions to eat of any culture. Makes sense because americans are the groupof humans closest to animals. They make disgusting noises when they eat, slurp everything, men in the streets lift their fucking wife beaters over their sweaty stomachs while laughing and chewing with their mouths full of food. Like what kind of idiot decided a stick is the most practical way to eat fucking hotdogs. Obese Brits who eat beans on toast have a better diet than the average american.

why not cook over fire in the husk, then covering a slice of white bread in tons of butter to butter the hot peeled corn?

Doesn't posting stale copypasta get old? I mean, do you giggle yourself to tears every time you do it? It seems like such a waste. Why not do something original, or have you no personality of your own?

Its only edible in the Midwest during harvest season, might as well eat canned corn otherwise.

you are aware that literally everywhere grows corn, right?
only ~14% of what's produced in the entire midwestern agricultural corn sector is exported lmao

Have you ever been to Iowa? Have you ever even driven past Iowa? It's fucking EVERYWHERE. It's fertile, flat and has just the right temperate climate for corn. It's all rotational too. Corn one year, soy the next.
>>16544207
That's because it's so prevalent that we make about everything out of it. High fructose corn syrup and soy isn't just a meme.

The real crime here is that there ain't no gators in Iowa, although gators are really tasty.

i am not disagreeing that a statistical majority of midwestern geography is agricultural and that itself corn. my point is that corn grows fuckin' everywhere and there are just as many regenerative nitrate non-corporate farms in optimal conditions/climates for corn all over the world that the same experience can be had almost anywhere outside the midwest
i certainly likewise am not sure about gators in iowa but they are delicious. i'll give iowa credit on one agricultural joy that can only be experienced there: fresh red delicious in harvest season from they area they were discovered. unreplicable experience
