How do I came home made ice cream right without ice cream maker? I tried today mixing cream, milk, eggs and sugar and some coconut oil. The taste was ok, but it was still too icy and not creamy even when I mixed it few times during freezing process

Unrelated but I tried looking ice cream recipes, lockdown means I can't buy any, and they all require cream which I don't have. Do people always have cream on hand? It expires quickly so you'd have to use it almost daily to always have some.
