Based on my observational studies they actually don't eat as much as you think they do. Just like fat people eat more than they claim they do.

Just keep trying. Don't undereat on your non binge days, don't fucking kid yourself and think you can eat 1200 calories a day when you binge on 5000+. 1500-2000 is far more manageable and if you aren't binging every other day you will actually produce the deficit you yearn for.

I make all my own foods pretty much from scratch, and you should to, as processed crap is filled with extra fats and salts.

Change your pallette and get away from the sweet/salty standard of western processed "cuisine". Start seasoing your foods with garlic, ginger, hot peppers, and use fruits if you want any sweetness.

Typical day.

Morning:
1. banana, apple, protein powder, plain yogurt
2. banana, apple, protein powder, pecans, coconut, oat meal
3. banana pancake with fruit, not syrup, and no butter
4. chopped, onion, bell pepper, cabbage, celery, eggs

Evening:
Chopped onion, bell pepper, cabbage, carrots, celery garnished with a protein and a bit of starch like rice or potato.

Beverages:
Tea with sugar or lemon.
Water with lemon.
Coffee.

No soft drinks. No processed snacks. When the pants start to get tight, the exercise rate goes up and the booze consumption goes down.

Anon, I used to be on the cusp of obesity at 210 pounds, six feet tall. I started eating one meal a day, 600 to 800 calories (rarely, I'll go up to 1,200), and I've,lost over 70 pounds. I'm now on the cusp of being underweight at 139.

It sucks at first, but when you do this for a while and get to a lower weight, you no longer feel hungry. For example, I last ate fourteen hours ago--chicken, rice, and a bowl of cereal--and I feel absolutely fine. I can go thirty-six hours without eating and still feel absolutely fine. This is coming from someone who not too long ago used to think he was "hungry" every two hours. Realize that's not real hunger, it's your brain craving the dopamine you give it through food.

You don't even need to give that up, just recognize it for what it is. I still enjoy food. I eat a gigantic large pizza once a week, sometimes even twice. It gives me a little something to look forward to and because I'm at a deficit on my other days I still manage to lose weight. And when you finish with your cut and focus on maintaining you can eat even more and it gets even easier.

The hardest part is starting. Once you get into a groove you're golden.

If you want a protip about which foods will leave you feeling hungry again in an hour, look up the glycemic index. Eat foods low on the GI and your meals will leave you full for long periods of time. But it's important you do a few 16h fasts at first to train your stomach out of constantly being stuffed full of food.

I used to be SUPER into /fit/, so I know a thing or two about eating very little and eating a whole lot. I was also very much like you, where I could eat maybe 2000 calories in one sitting, and then get very hungry again 8 or so hours later. Here's are a few foods that you can eat all day and you won't get full from:

>Fried egg whites (fry them with nonstick spray instead of oil)
>Shrimp
>Chicken breast stir fry with broccoli, soysauce, onions, carrots, and peas
>Whole steamed salted tilapias (picking through the bones will force you to slow down, tricking your brain into thinking you're full)
>Steamed and salted broccoli in general (if you hate broccoli, this might suck, but I love broccoli)
>Canned tuna and salt with no mayo (I love this too, so if you don't, that sucks)

>Greek yogurt
>Cottage cheese (Kinda didn't like cottage cheese, so sometimes I'd have to force it down)
>Bone broth soup (beef tendons and such boiled for hours at a time until the water becomes white and milky, then the broth is eaten with salt and pepper)
>Powdered orange flavored metamucil fiber for digestive health
>Chocolate protein powder in ice water (mmmm, dessert)
>One or two fruits as snacks, if you want

I literally lived like that for 6 months out of the year, for 6 years straight. It was great, and my favorite was whole steamed salted tilapias, bone-in, head-on and everything. My body would need about 2200 calories to maintain, and I would be eating 1600-1800ish calories everyday with either one or two meals at night after fasting all day that made me feel full and and stuffed afterwards. Keep in mind that "1800" calories was me rounding WAY up too, JUST IN CASE the nutrition labels were lying to me. No carbs, no sugars, nothing else. Just high protein, low calorie foods.

As a former overweight person and now very thin I can tell you what changed my weight in order of importance and exercise is at the bottom of the list:-

1. Learning to cook things from scratch thus avoiding a lot of hidden sugars and fats. Seasoning with herbs, spices instead of adding fat and sugar to everything.
2. Learning to eat less and not just to throw something in my mouth out of boredom.
3. Getting a good balance between protein, carbs and veg in each meal 25%, 25%, 50%. The veg fills you up so you aren't craving the more calorific stuff. Don't skimp on the carbs despite fashionable diet advice, your body pays you back with avengeance otherwise.
4. Low-moderate intensity exercise such as walking consistently. In other words it doesn't have to be intense, but consistency is key.

Why would you eat so little?
If you're a fatass it means that you eat probably something like 5000kcal or more per day. Dropping it down to 1500 immediately doesn't make any sense because you would be losing weight even if you switched from 5000kcal a day to 4000kcal a day.
You fatsos get your terrible binges because you starve yourself too much too fast. Proper weight loss can take years and the modifications you make into your diet during that time should remain permanent.

What do you mean by this? Not disagreeing, just I don't understand.

As someone who's been skinny their whole life (mostly by skipping breakfast and avoiding sugar/refined carbs/fried food) and now doing strength training, getting over 2000cal a day is pretty tough and I end up having massive dinners and shoving protein bars in my mouth to keep up.
