This.
My cousin tried getting some recipes from my grandma's coocking book but there were literally 0 measures.
Cakes were like: sugar: a bit, flour: just enough, eggs: a bunch.
So he had to ask for help.
I do the same since once you get confident enough with a dish you just put things from memory and adjust it to your palate but I really hope you are illiterate because people like you do not deserve to be able to write.

I prep absolutely everything before I even get a pan out so I measure out spices, flour, butter etc. I'm extremely organised when I cook.

if baking you want measurements, otherwise it doesn't matter that much

I don't understand this phrasing. If I already predicted that measurements weren't used ["how could you tell?"], why does he format his response in a fashion geared to reset an assumption that there are measurements ["measurements?"]? I don't think this would ever happen.

Your shit's too sour, greasy, salty and starchy 90% of the time.

Congratulations on being a 10% phenomenal cook.

tastes good to me, and thats all that matters.

yeah my mom cooks like that and now that i cook her mind gets blown at how good and moist my cakes and pies turn out because i actually use measurements.
this fucking /ck/ cope of thinking you're hot shit for not following recipes is beyond pathetic. recipes give you better results every time, simple as. sure, if i'm making a weeknight meal or a stew i don't bother with measurements but if you want to actually cook *something*, that is to say a specific thing, recipes yield the best result

Recipes are just approximations rounded off to convenient numbers.
