In a restaurant/pub/club etc I just get a moscow mule. At home I make stuff out of vodka, gin, Chambord and midori mixed with whatever soft drink I feel like will make a nice flavour.
Probably my favourite one so far was Chambord, Pink Gin in Lemonade (the sprite kind).
If I'm lazy I just dump a shot or two of the gin/vodka into a cup and then pour in the soft drink.
If I feel like another drink I'll just get an apple cider and top it up when it's halfway.
